｛果たして｝コミュニケーションロボット=人型の固定概念は崩せるか？
2017年にKickstarterで世界デビューを果たしたコミュニケーションロボットPLEN Cube。
国内のクラウドファンディング開始時より、「箱型ロボット」というジャンルの新たなロボット像の構築とコミュニケーション部分を支援しています。
2018年3月、米国テキサス州オースティンで行われたSXSWに参戦。
製品化やビジネスモデルを模索しているPLENチームが必要としていたのは、「より多くのフィードバック」。
単にトレードショーに出展するのではなく、より専門家に直接アタックできるメンタリングやスポットライトという展示会など、日本人がまだ開拓していない部分に、共に挑戦しました。
同時に一般の方からのフィードバックを受けるために、オースティン現地のラーメン店と期間中に提携し、待ち時間の間にコミュニケーションがとれる#RoboRamenというデモも行いました。
また、現地のグラフィティアーティストとコラボし、アウトドアギャラリーの壁にPLEN Cubeが普及した未来像を描くライブペインティングイベントも行いました。
